Watch the Northwave EC Flythrough and the transformation of Woodlands from a sleepy rubber plantation to the Woodlands Regional Centre in the Northern Singapore.
Ride the wave in the North
If you’re looking for the next new in place to live, work and play, the north of Singapore may tick every box on your dream list. Since Woodlands was announced as the country’s next regional centre, the excitement has only mounted.
Now, along with the promise of a vibrant array of offices, businessses, retail, entertainment and recreational options, a brand new executive condominium is set to join the mix.
With six striking 16-storey towers with 358 units including two- to five-bedroom apartments and penthouses, Northwave EC offers not only stylish housing but also unbeatable premium location right in the upcoming northern hub.
A stellar location
An aerial view of Woodlands and the Causeway.
Real estate is all about location and Northwave EC has it by the bucketloads. Straddling the junction of Gambas Avenue and Woodlands Avenue 12, Hao Yuan (Woodlands) Pte Ltd’s latest development will enjoy all the benefits of being so close to Woodlands Regional Centre.
And there will be plenty of benefits if the success of the first two regional centres, Tampines Regional Centre and Jurong Regional Centre, are anything to go by.
When fully developed in the next 10 to 15 years, this third regional centre will transform the North into a commercial, research, leisure and residential hive.
Spanning 100 hectares, it will generate increased economic activity that will create an estimated 100,000 new jobs. Your chance of working where you live will increase exponentially.
All the right connections
Woodlands MRT station is a crucial transport node in the area.
Residents of Northwave EC will find travelling around the island quick and hassle free, thanks to improvements to the transport infrastructure of the North.
In 2020, the North-South Corridor will be completed, supplementing the existing Seletar Expressway (SLE) and Bukit Timah Express (BKE). The multi-use highway gives Woodlands direct access to the city via Yishun, Ang Mo Kio, Bishan and Toa Payoh.
Between 2019 and 2021, the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL) will join the North-South Line (NSL), making MRT travel even easier. Expect 22 stations connecting Woodlands to Marina Bay, as well as two more MRT stations to Woodlands town. These will not only provide direct access to the city but also to the eastern parts of the island.
And if you’re looking forward to day trips abroad, there are not one but three cross-border links to Johor Bahru – the Causeway, the Shuttle Tebrau train and the upcoming Rapid Transit System (RTS).
As a hub of the future, there will be intricate networks for cycling and walking
within Woodlands, and connecting it to other towns and to the future Round Island Route and Rail Corridor.
From Northwave EC, nature lovers and joggers will have direct access to the Woodlands and Sembawang park connectors. Right next to the property is the North South Corridor, the first to integrate dedicated cycling lanes, bus lanes and walkways. Travel will soon be good for both your health and the earth.
Welcome to the good life
Enjoy resort-style living at Northwave EC.
Nestled within the only regional hub with a coastal waterfront setting, Northwave EC will offer resort-style living complete with stunning views of the Straits of Johor and water activities aplenty to enjoy.
Tucking into delicious local food can be your daily indulgence as Northwave EC is near the famous Chong Pang Market & Food Centre. And since it’s surrounded by suburban malls like Causeway Point, Sun Plaza and Northpoint – soon to be revamped as Northpoint City, which has a community club right inside the mall – shopping for your daily necessities will be a breeze as well.
Sports enthusiasts have reason to cheer, as Northwave is the first EC in Singapore to offer a badminton court. As public badminton facilities are almost always fully booked during prime timeslots, a private badminton court will make life that much easier.
Other than the EC’s badminton court, gym, swimming pool and futsal court, sports buffs can also work out at the nearby Woodlands Sports Hall and the Mega Sports Court. Or unwind with a game of golf at Sembawang Golf and Country Club and the Orchid Country Club, both just around the corner.
Families will be glad to know that there are plenty of schools for different levels – primary, secondary and junior college – conveniently located within a kilometre or two away.
Come 2022, there will be integrated healthcare services available when the Woodlands General Hospital is completed. Upcoming community development Kampung Admiralty will also house clinics and healthcare retailers, alongside sundry shops, a food court and a childcare centre.
Investing into the future
Beyond being a great place to call home, buying in the North has proven to be profitable for many.
Northwave EC is an attractive and affordable investment. With its location at the growing Woodlands Regional Centre, the added buzz and jobs boost in the coming years will make this development an increasingly sought after one.
Already, potential homeowners have registered keen interest. With large units (90 per cent of the units are 3-bedroom units and above) and clever, space-maximising layouts, it’s no wonder this EC appeals particularly to young families.
A prized destination in the future, an investment for tomorrow, a home for a lifetime – Northwave EC rides on the wave of change to come in the North.
Northwave EC, Hao Yuan Investment’s newest executive condominium (EC) at Woodlands Avenue 12, will open for e-applications this Saturday, 25 June.
Located near the upcoming Woodlands Regional Centre, the 358-unit Northwave EC comprises two- to five-bedroom units and penthouses. Apartment sizes range from 678 sq ft for a two-bedder to 1,722 sq ft for the largest penthouse unit.
Woodlands Developments and Potential
Woodlands Regional Centre – URA Master Plan 2014
Woodlands has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past 50 years, from its early days of kampongs and plantations, to a densely populated housing and industrial estate. Plans are now underway to develop the town into a regional centre that could rival Jurong and Tampines.
Woodlands Central will be transformed into a bustling commercial hub.
WOODLANDS Central, one of four regional centres that will serve as business hubs outside the city, will have its own retail and food complex by 2017.
The $31.1 million project has been earmarked to be built in the open space next to Woodlands Sports Hall and bounded by Woodlands Street 12, The Straits Times understands.
THE mature industrial area in Singapore’s north has a well-established record for attracting buyers, given its proximity to the Causeway and Johor Baru.
Now the area is set to become an even more compelling business proposition, with a big boost in economic activity and development on the cards.

SINGAPORE – The PAP Community Foundation (PCF) will open its first ‘mega’ childcare centre in Woodlands in the second half of next year, it said on Sunday (Nov 1).
The two-storey centre at Woodlands Street 13 will cater to 300 children aged from 18 months to seven years.
It will have a rooftop play area and outdoor spaces, while classrooms will be designed to “integrate indoor learning with the outdoors”, the foundation said in a statement.
A new integrated health-care complex, which includes an acute care hospital, community hospital and nursing home, will open in phases from 2022 in Woodlands.
When completed, the development will provide some 1,800 beds.
The complex will be built on a 7.7ha site along Woodlands Avenue 12 and Woodlands Drive 17, opposite Christ Church Secondary. It will be within walking distance to the future Woodlands South MRT Station.

Woodlands, Toa Payoh and Pasir Ris are to get facelifts within the next 10 years, with fresh facilities, more greenery and better connected spaces.
The three towns will be revamped under the Housing Board’s Remaking Our Heartland (ROH) scheme, which spruces up public housing estates.

SINGAPORE – The North-South Corridor – a 21.5km expressway that will connect towns in the northern region to the city – is expected to be completed around 2026.
Revealing this in a press release on Thursday (April 28), the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said it will be calling several tenders for the project in the coming months, with major construction works to start in 2017.
While first conceptualised as a vehicular expressway to be finished in 2020, the corridor will now be built as the island’s first “integrated transport corridor” featuring dedicated bus lanes and cycling trunk routes.
